KINDERGARTEN ADMISSION PROCEDURES

If you desire an application contact Genetta Holt at (520) 297-0922 or e-mail at
genettah@casaschurch.org.
CCS
Kindergarten is a full-day, academic Kindergarten; therefore, Casas
Christian School has a number of policies that apply only for admission
to this particular grade level. These policies are listed below:
Students entering
Kindergarten must be five (5) years old by September 1 of the current
school year. Students born later than that date are not permitted
to enroll.
(Casas Christian Preschool has a special program,
KinderBridge, for children missing the September 1 deadline. Call the
preschool for information, 520-297-0393, or contact
www.casaschristianpreschool.com.
Students may register for
enrollment according to the priority system as outlined in the general
admission policies, but enrollment is not guaranteed until the following
is completed:
-
All students and parents
must participate in our Kindergarten Readiness Roundup. Your
child will participate in small group exercises simulating a classroom
setting. The purpose of this session will be to determine
whether applicants have the readiness skills to begin Kindergarten.
-
While the children are in
these activities, both parents are required to meet with a school
administrator for a group orientation explaining CCS purposes,
objectives, and programs.
-
The week after the Roundup, parents will be
contacted about their
child's eligibility to begin class at CCS in the fall. The
decision of the CCS staff is final in eligibility considerations.
-
Dates for the Roundup
this year will be Saturday, March 29; Saturday, April 12; and Saturday, April
26. CCS will host a Kindergarten Open
House for parents on Thursday, February 28. Please reserve these dates. Students cannot be
enrolled into Kindergarten without participating in one of these
Roundups. (If a student enrolls after April 26, another
Roundup will be scheduled later in the year.)
-
All the necessary
paperwork (application form, emergency form, immunization form,
student health forms) and fees must be completed and paid before a
student will be invited to the Kindergarten Roundup. If a
student is determined ineligible to enroll after our staff evaluation,
the registration fee will be refunded. The application fee will
be retained to cover the expense of the Roundup process.
All new students are
accepted on a nine-week probationary status. With young children,
such as Kindergartners, it is often difficult to predict how they will
adapt to school. If a
problem surfaces after school begins, we will confer with
you to determine the best solution for both your child and for our
classroom.
All three Kindergarten
classes meet Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm.
