ACADEMICS

To ensure academic
excellence, Casas Christian School maintains class sizes of no more than
20 students, employs state certified teachers, provides a comprehensive
curriculum, and administers the Stanford Achievement Test to monitor
instructional progress. School hours for grades K-5 are 8:00 am
- 2:30 pm.

ELEMENTARY ENRICHMENT MODULE
To provide effective and
concentrated enrichment to the curriculum, CCS offers twelve week segments
of each of the following subject areas: Spanish, Art, and Computer
Technology. During each twelve weeks, students will attend two classes
a week dedicated to the subject designated for that part of the school year.
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SERVICES
A fully licensed speech
pathologist is available to provide speech and language services to
students (fee-based).

ACADEMIC HONORS
Students are encouraged to
achieve academic excellence. Fourth and fifth grade students who
attain a grade point average of 3.50 or better will be placed on the Honor
Roll at the end of each quarter. Students attaining a 4.0 will be
placed on the Principal's List.
STUDENT LIFE
At Casas Christian School,
students are provided with many opportunities to participate in
activities that develop them intellectually, socially, physically, and
spiritually.

ELEMENTARY GRADES
Student activities include
field trips, talent show, Spirit Weeks, spelling bees, math competitions, school clubs,
musical performances, orchestra, and a
fifth grade
overnight retreat in the spring.
Elementary Students can
participate in after-school sports programs, Fun & Fitness and
Team Sports.
Elementary students present Christmas concerts and other
musical programs throughout the year. On Grandparents Day,
all students prepare a special program for their guests. The Kindergarten
students present a musical program, Kindergarten Celebration, for
families and friends at the end of the year.
Elementary students have the
opportunity to connect with Casas Church's Children's Ministries through
Kids' Central (Sunday morning classes), AWANA (Wednesday evenings), and
Children's Church. These resources are listed on the
Children's Ministries website. |

MENTORING PROGRAM
Casas Christian School operates a Mentoring Program. This program connects new
school families with a family that has been attending the school for at
least a year. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all new
students and their families have the opportunity to meet and bond with
another school family prior to the start of the new school year.
Forms for participating in the program are included with the Admission
Application. |

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAMS
CCS offers elementary
students two sports programs: Fun and Fitness (K-2) is a
program which encourages students to participate in activities that
develop coordination and gross motor skills. Team Sports (3-5)
is a program designed to teach skill development in specific sports.
There is an additional fee for participation in these programs. |
