FINANCIAL AID

Thanks to the Arizona Tax Credit Program, our school has been blessed with a tuition assistance fund.  It is our sincere desire to make funds available to as many families as possible; however, funds are limited and awarded on a "first come" basis.

By Arizona state law, we are required to use the service of a School Tuition Organization to handle the distribution of these funds.  We have elected to use Institute of Better Education (IBE).  IBE requires applicants to complete a Tuition Assistance Application Form and submit it to Development Testing Services.  This company provides a confidential financial analysis that is used to determine each applicant's award.  We also require a copy of the applicant's 2009 Federal Tax Return.  Below is the checklist of the procedures.

STEP 1

Complete the Confidential Financial Analysis (CFA) Tuition Assistance Packet online with Development Testing Services ($20) or mail the CFA for $25.

STEP 2

Complete the school's Financial Aid Application and return to the School Office, including a copy of your 2009 Federal Tax Return.

Once we have received your completed CCS Financial Aid Application, tax return, and the Confidential Financial Analysis, we can process your application.  Be sure that all forms are complete and accurate.  Discrepancies or lack of information slow the process.

Contact the school office, (520) 297-0922, for more information or to request Financial Aid Forms.

SCRIP Tuition Reduction Program

With the help of parent volunteers, we offer our families a SCRIP Tuition Reduction Program.  This program allows you to purchase gift certificates or "vouchers" to be used in area businesses  where you normally shop; i.e., grocery stores, gasoline stations, movie theaters, restaurants, and  other businesses.

SCRIP, a national online purchasing organization, offers the gift certificates at a discounted price to the school.  The school then accumulates the discount, or profit, from the purchases.  Of the profit raised through this program, 50% of the profit is used by the school to offset the expenses associated with running the program and any excess is used for some specific need of the school.  Parents receive the other 50% of the profit they generate to reduce their tuition expenses.  Grandparents, other relatives, and friends can also participate in the program, designating a school family as recipient of the profit.  Parents receive credit for the funds they have accumulated on their January and May statements.

ARIZONA TAX CREDIT PROGRAM

You can ask friends and family members who are Arizona taxpayers to redirect up to $1,000 of their tax dollars, if they file jointly, or $500 if they file a single return, to a state tuition organization.  The taxpayer can recommend that the funds be used to pay for your child's private education.  The taxpayer will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for participating in this program!  You only need a few taxpayers to participate in this program and you cover the cost of attending Casas Christian School!
