SPIRITUAL GROWTH

At Casas Christian School, students are provided with many opportunities to grow spiritually.  Each day begins with prayer and includes a curriculum-driven Bible study.  Students attend Chapel weekly and learn how to serve others through mission projects.

CHAPEL

Students attend Chapel each week by grade divisions (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8).  These services are times of devotion and worship and include prayer, singing, Bible stories, skits, and object lessons.  Students receive recognition for their demonstration of godly character traits (Serving Others program) and for academic achievements.  Parents are welcome to attend these services.  Students wear uniforms on Chapel days (uniform information is available in the School Office).

"FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT" CHARACTER TRAITS

Each month students focus on the scripture in Galatians that describes the characteristics of a person who is responding to the Holy Spirit's guidance as he or she relates to other people.  Parents are encouraged to reinforce these ideas at home.  Galatians 5:22-23a "...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

"SERVING OTHERS" MISSIONS

Students, by grade levels, select an organization to serve as a mission or outreach project.  Meeting the needs of the organization takes many forms; i.e., raising money, organizing a food drive, repairing a senior citizen's home, visiting seniors in nursing homes, and many other such activities.

Each year Middle School students have the option to serve on an AMOR Ministry trip to Mexico.  AMOR is a ministry that builds homes for impoverished families in Mexico.  The students, under the direction of adults, construct a home over a period of several days.  Additionally, the students provide a Bible school for the children in the neighborhood.  The eighth grade students also go on a ministry trip to inner city Los Angeles each spring.
